Terms

Terms of use.

Draft · last updated 11 October 2026

Draft for review. Items in [square brackets] still need filling in, and these terms need a lawyer's review before nudg is released to the public.

About these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and [legal entity name] (“nudg”, “we”, “us”) for your use of the nudg app and website. By creating an account you agree to them. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your data. If you downloaded nudg from the App Store, Apple's standard licensed application end user licence agreement also applies.

Who can use nudg

You must be 18 or over to use nudg. You need an iPhone and an Apple Account, and you are responsible for keeping access to your phone and account secure.

What nudg does

nudg lets you set limits on apps on your iPhone and shows patterns across your health, spending and screen time data. Features may change as we improve the app, and some depend on your country, your bank and the data your devices record. We work to keep nudg available but can't promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free.

App limits rely on Apple's Screen Time system. They are a tool to help you, not a guarantee: you can change or remove them, and Apple's system decides how they are enforced.

Not medical advice

nudg is a wellbeing app, not a medical device. Scores, insights, charts and Ask nudg answers are for general information about your own habits. They do not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition and are not a substitute for a doctor. Correlations in your data don't prove one thing causes another. If you have concerns about your health, speak to a healthcare professional, and in an emergency call your local emergency number.

Not financial advice

Spending insights describe your past transactions. They are not financial, investment or debt advice.

Connected services

Bank connections are provided by regulated open banking providers under their own terms, which you agree to when you connect. Health data comes from Apple Health. We aren't responsible for those services, and data from them may sometimes be late, incomplete or wrong.

Ask nudg

Ask nudg uses an AI model to answer questions about your data. Answers can be wrong, so check anything important. Ask nudg can suggest changes, but nothing changes until you confirm it.

Using nudg fairly

Please don't misuse nudg: for example, by trying to access other people's data, interfering with our systems, reverse engineering the app except where the law allows, or using it for anything unlawful. We may suspend accounts that do.

The nudg name, logo, app and website belong to us. You keep ownership of your data; you give us permission to use it only to provide nudg to you, as set out in the privacy policy.

Subscriptions

[If nudg introduces paid plans: price, billing through the App Store, renewal, cancellation through your Apple Account settings, and free trial terms will be set out here before they apply.]

Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from the You tab in the app, which deletes your data as described in the privacy policy. We may close an account that breaks these terms or if we stop offering nudg, and will give reasonable notice where we can.

Our responsibility to you

Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud, or your statutory rights as a consumer. Otherwise, we are not responsible for losses that weren't foreseeable, for decisions you make based on insights from nudg, or for business losses. [Liability cap to be confirmed.]

Law

These terms are governed by the law of [England and Wales]. If you live elsewhere in the UK, or in another country, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws where you live and can bring claims in your local courts.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change matters, we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect.
